It is C.A.A.N., Inc.’s mission to use athletics as a means of crime prevention and reduction of criminal recidivism.  It has been voted upon and determined by the C.A.A.N, Inc. Board of Directors that the aforementioned mission can best be achieved by assisting and advocating for professional combat athletes (Boxers, MMA Fighters) and those individuals who aspire to a professional career as a combat athlete, including combat athletes who are incarcerated, formerly incarcerated, have current legal issues or previous criminal history, and/or are legally at-risk. We have therefore changed the name of our organization to the Combat Athletes Assistance Network.

It is also part of CAAN, Inc.’s mission to prevent crime and reduce criminal recidivism by using athletics to support and promote social justice for oppressed populations, through fundraising and other programs. These efforts will be conducted through the social justice arm of C.A.A.N., Inc., the Ripple of Hope Project.
